Who made what

Clean Your TV is one family’s project, standing on a lot of other people’s work.

Where it started

Thank you, Gathin.

Clean Your TV began as a fork of cleanyourtv, Gathin’s open-source project to debloat any Android or Google TV over Wi-Fi and give it a home of its own. Everything you see here is built on top of his work.

Imagery

Every screen on this page is our own TV or the studio that mirrors it. The family screens use a sample family — drawn silhouettes and made-up names — so no real family member appears anywhere.

The wolf wallpaper came to us without a credit, and we haven’t been able to trace its photographer. If any of it is yours, please write to us — we’ll credit you or replace it.

The “before” screenshot shows Google TV’s stock home as it appeared on our TV, including promotional artwork that belongs to its respective owners.

Trademarks

Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, JioHotstar, Spotify, Google TV, Android, Sony and BRAVIA are trademarks of their respective owners. Their logos appear here only as they appear on our TV. Clean Your TV is a personal, non-commercial project and isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.

Questions

What is Clean Your TV built on?

The launcher began as a fork of Gathin's open-source cleanyourtv (MIT licence) and is built on top of it, with two AndroidX libraries and the Android framework.

Which fonts does it use?

On the TV: Outfit, Cinzel and Scheherazade New. On this page: Bricolage Grotesque, Instrument Serif and JetBrains Mono. All are under the SIL Open Font License.

Where does the weather come from?

Open-Meteo's free forecast API (CC BY 4.0). It's the launcher's only network call; it has no accounts, trackers or analytics.

How are prayer times calculated?

On the TV, offline, with the PrayTimes.org method: the Karachi convention (Fajr and Isha at 18°) and Hanafi Asr.

Who owns the app logos shown?

Their companies. Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, JioHotstar, Spotify, Google TV, Android, Sony and BRAVIA are trademarks of their owners, shown only as they appear on our TV.
